With strong roots in Franklin and a full K–12 education through Franklin schools, I’ve always valued the impact great teachers and supportive communities can have on students. That’s what led me into education, and it’s why I enjoy working with students one-on-one through tutoring.
For the past nine years, I’ve worked at Christel House Schools in Indianapolis with students in grades 6–12 in a variety of roles. My background is primarily in humanities, English Language Learners (ML), and student support services. I am a licensed Multilingual Learner (ML) teacher as well as a licensed special educator. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building strong relationships with students, helping them grow in confidence, and creating a positive environment where they feel supported and capable of succeeding.
In addition to academic tutoring, I also help students and families navigate college and career planning. That can include support with college applications, essays, interview preparation, financial aid guidance, and exploring career pathways. I enjoy helping students figure out their strengths, set goals, and take practical steps toward their future.
As a graduate of Franklin College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education Generalist K-6, and completion of the ELL Licensure Program at Butler University, I bring extensive expertise to private tutoring services. With previous teaching roles at Christel House Academy and various elementary schools, I have developed a comprehensive skill set in providing customized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
My teaching experience spans second through eighth, allowing me to effectively tutor students across different age groups and subjects, including mathematics, English language arts, science, and social studies. Notably, I have achieved exceptional passing rates in state assessments and received recognition as a distinguished teacher. I was my districts 2018 Teacher of the Year.
In addition to academic support, I specialize in assisting students with dyslexia and implementing evidence-based reading instruction. With a thorough understanding of dyslexia and the science of reading, I offer targeted interventions and support for students facing reading challenges.
